Purpose In many African countries, orphaned
children are raising their brothers and sisters due to the HIV/AIDS
pandemic. In response, ZOE Ministry (http://www.zoehelps.org/) shares the Love
of Christ and gives hope to vulnerable children in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya,
and Rwanda. The purpose of the ZOE 5k is to raise and provide needed
funding for the ZOE Orphan Empowerment Project. This project provides
training in farming, animal husbandry, vocational skills, income-generating
activities, HIV/AIDS education, health and hygiene to orphans. The training
frees orphans from poverty and dependency within 2-3 years in the program. Investing in Kids The ZOE Orphan Empowerment Project is an exciting program that builds
confidence in kids in Africa, providing them the skills and encouragement that enable them to take charge
of their life. The ZOE 5k does the same in America for everyone taking part, whether running, walking,
or volunteering. The healthy athleticism of running and walking can empower you and your kids to achieve
the seemingly impossible.
UCUMC
is dedicated toward investing in kids in a variety of ways. Check out this
video about EPIC, another exciting program dedicated to
Investing in Kids.
